Course Description
This practical and highly-interactive course includes real-life case studies and exercises Theory learnt will be applied using our state-of-the-art simulators.
This course is designed to provide participants with a detailed and up-to-date overview of Low Voltage VFD. It covers the variable frequency drives, electrical fundamentals for VFD operation and the types of motors used with LV VFDs; the basic VFD architecture and components, VFD operating modes and control methods and safety considerations for LV VFD systems; and the LV VFD selection criteria, motor and VFD sizing and power supply and harmonic considerations.
Further, the course will also discuss the cable selection and installation, braking methods, energy management, EMC and electrical noise control; the mechanical and electrical installation, initial power-up and parameter setup, control interfaces and I/O configuration; the protection and alarm settings, commissioning tests and verification; the parameter backup and change management, normal operation and monitoring; the common VFD faults and alarms and systematic troubleshooting techniques; and the motor-related problems in VFD applications, environmental and installation issues and maintenance strategies for LV VFDs.
During this interactive course, participants will learn the advanced control features and apply energy efficiency and optimization, VFD applications in industrial processes and integration with automation and digital systems; the IEC and IEEE standards for LV VFDs, functional safety considerations and factory and site acceptance testing; the high-efficiency power electronics, smart drives and AI-based control; and the condition monitoring and digital twins and sustainability and decarbonization impacts.
