Course Description
This practical and highly-interactive course includes various practical sessions and exercises. Theory learnt will be applied using our state-of-the-art simulators.
This course is designed to provide participants with a detailed and up-to-date overview of Design Engineering Firm. It covers the project lifecycle in design engineering and roles of project management in a design firm; the design workflow and process mapping, contract types and scope in design projects; the civil and structural engineering interface, mechanical and piping design workflow and electrical engineering contributions; and the instrumentation and control design and process engineering in design firms.
Further, the course will also discuss the engineering WBS, linking design activities to project milestones, rolling wave planning for detailed design and the critical path and design dependencies; the design deliverables management and design software and digital tools; the quality assurances in design engineering and value engineering optimization; the regular design review meetings, aligning design intent with client expectations and tracking and responding to client comments; and managing design changes and regulatory and code compliance.
During this interactive course, participants will learn the constructability and operability reviews; designing HSE integration covering HAZID HAZOP, and SIL in design; the safe layout principles and escape routes, safety signage and access markings and risk registers and mitigation tracking; monitoring design progress and KPI’s; the commercial aspects and billing and coordinating with procurement and construction; and the document finalization checklist, red-line markups and record drawings, client handover documentation and archiving and data migration.
