Course Description
This practical and highly-interactive course includes various practical sessions and exercises. Theory learnt will be applied using our state-of-the-art simulators. This course is designed to provide participants with a detailed and up-to-date overview of Advanced Seismic Data Acquisition and Processing. It covers the seismic data acquisition and processing and the basic principles of seismic reflection and refraction; the types of seismic surveys of seismic data processing steps and the seismic data acquisition; the seismic source types and design, receiver types design and quality control for field data; the preprocessing data preparation and quality control and the trace editing and filtering; the static corrections, noise reduction techniques, imaging and the migration algorithms and velocity analysis and imaging. Further, this course will also discuss the quantitative interpretation, seismic inversion methods and carryout rock physics modeling and interpretation quality control; the time-lapse and monitoring and the time-lapse seismic imaging; the reservoir changes, data processing challenges in time-lapse imaging, quality control for time-lapse data and the multicomponent seismology; and the multicomponent seismic data, data acquisition and processing for multicomponent surveys and the interpretation of multicomponent data.During this interactive course, participants will learn the applications of multicomponent seismology, high-frequency seismic data and the data acquisition and processing for high-frequency surveys; the interpretation of high-frequency data, applications of high-frequency seismic data, seismic attributes and the basic seismic attribute analysis; the advanced seismic attribute analysis, interpretation of seismic attributes, and emerging technologies; the emerging seismic data acquisition and processing technologies, emerging technologies the advantages and limitations of emerging technologies and the future directions in seismic data acquisition and processing.
