Course Description

This course is designed to provide participants with a detailed and up-to-date overview of Megaprojects in the Oil & Gas Industry - Concepts, Strategies, and Practices for Success. It covers the global impact of oil and gas on economies and geopolitics; what constitutes a megaproject focusing on scale, complexity and financial thresholds; the various steps for starting a megaproject including stakeholder analysis and strategic intent; and the techniques for conducting feasibility studies and initial risk assessments.
Further, the course will also cover the financial modeling including decision-making processes and criteria for investment approval; the regulatory and environmental considerations, stakeholder management and project management methodologies; the risk identification, assessment and mitigation in megaprojects; the use of advanced tools for risk management including quantitative risk analysis; managing the supply chain for megaprojects; and the innovations in drilling, extraction and processing technologies.
During this interactive course, participants will learn the best practices for assembling and managing large, diverse project teams; the leadership styles and quality assurance and control; the project monitoring and control systems and health, safety, and environment (HSE); the effective contract management to prevent disputes and ensure compliance; the performance evaluation and reporting; and the processes and practices for successful project closure and handover to operations.
