Course Description

This practical and highly-interactive course includes various practical sessions and exercises. Theory learnt will be applied using our state-of-the-art simulators. This course is designed to provide participants with a detailed and up-to-date overview of Advanced Plant & Equipment Integrity and Intermediate Technical Drawings. It covers the fundamentals of plant and equipment integrity and their relevance in water handling; the material properties and corrosion mechanisms in water systems; the basic and advanced welding and fabrication techniques for reliable construction; the nondestructive testing (NDT) methods, techniques like ultrasonic, radiographic, and magnetic particle testing; the pressure vessels and piping systems focusing on its design, maintenance and inspection; and the safety standards and regulatory compliance. Further, the course will also discuss the advanced operation and maintenance for pumps and compressors; the types, selection, and applications of valves and actuators in water handling; the design and performance optimization of heat exchangers and cooling systems; the technologies in water purification and treatment; and the techniques to improve energy usage and predictive maintenance strategies in utilizing data for equipment health monitoring.
During this interactive course, participants will learn the technical drawings covering its principles and conventions; the CAD software and tools for water systems piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID); the techniques and practices for 3D modeling of plant equipment, the blueprint reading and interpretation; the technical manuals and documentation; the interoperability of different plant systems and the systematic approaches to problem-solving and troubleshooting; the risks in operations and the control and automation strategies for water handling systems and water quality monitoring; and the development of emergency response plan in preparation and management for unexpected situations.
