Course Description

This practical and highly-interactive course includes practical sessions and demonstration where participants carryout fire fighting operations. Theory learnt in the class will be applied using various fire fighting equipment through hands-on practical sessions. This course is designed to provide participants with a detailed and up-to-date overview of fire fighting level 1 and 2. It covers the fire department personnel duties and responsibilities; the firefighter operation techniques, fire control and wildland fire control; the sprinkler system fundamentals including hazardous materials first responders at the awareness level; and the fire department organization, fire behavior and safety. During this interactive course, participants will learn the proper use of portable fire extinguishers, ladders, fire hose and appliances; the emergency medical care, building construction, forcible entry and ventilation; the systematic techniques in using water supply, nozzles and fire streams as well as rescue, fire control, ropes and knots; the loss control, fire detection, alarm and suspension systems including fire prevention and public education; the evidence for cause and determination; the proper use of communications; and the terrorism awareness, firefighter survival and hazardous materials awareness.
