Course Description

This practical and highly-interactive course includes real-life case studies and exercises where participants will be engaged in a series of interactive small groups and class workshops. This course is designed to provide participants with a detailed and up-to-date overview of port pricing and tariff charging for oil and gas terminals. It covers the terminal scheduling problems that include berth allocation, ship arrival, tanks and pipeline allocations, integration of terminal scheduling problems and uncertainty in terminal scheduling; the general supply chain, stakeholders, carriers, trade routes and trends of the liquid bulk; the functions, characteristics equipment and categorisation of the liquid bulk terminals; the oil and gas terminal regulations, quality and safety regulations and port pricing regulations and the port pricing and marginal cost as well as the cost structure and the functions in oil transport and refining. During this interactive course, participants will learn the environmental risks at ports and terminals including the impacts of globalization on international maritime transport activity; the maritime risk assessment, ports and terminals challenges and solutions; the role of carriers, terminals and third parties in liner and bulk shipping; the good practice in terminal marine operations as well as loading operations in crude oil and LNG handling in terminals and the oil pollution management and oil pollution cost.
