Course Description
This practical and highly-interactive course includes various practical sessions and exercises. Theory learnt will be applied using our state-of-the-art simulators. This course is designed to provide participants with a detailed and up-to-date overview of Safety Management Specialist (SMS) BCSP-SMS Exam Preparation Training. It covers the principles and common elements of safety management systems for encouraging employee involvement and commitment; the goal setting, internal audit, competency/skills assessment management systems and effective training; keep record related to training and education and managing corrective actions; and the management of change (MOC) procedure and organizational change process. Further, the course will also discuss the hazard prevention, control management, work planning and controls and hierarchy of controls; the concepts in the globally harmonized system of classification and labeling of chemicals (GHS); the common controls for slips, trips, and falls; working with electricity, confined spaces and around machinery and equipment; and the common controls for bloodborne pathogens, lead, asbestos, ionizing and non-ionizing, radiation, temperature extremes, vibration, noise, etc.During this interactive course, participants will learn the fundamentals of causal analysis; the components or elements of an effective incident/accident management program and emergency response plan; the benefit analysis principles, common techniques and direct and indirect costs in relation to safety; the experience modification rate, positive safety/organizational culture and indicators of a positive safety and organizational culture; the hazards and controls including the technical and other safety information to stakeholders; and the conflict management techniques and common leadership strategies.
