Mr. William Fournerat is a Senior API Inspector/Engineer with over 30 years of tank inspection experience in Petrochemical, Refinery, Power, Utilities and Oil & Gas industries. His expertise extends over the areas of Storage Tank Inspection; Tank Design; Tank Construction & Inspection; Tank Maintenance; Tank Repair; Tank Evaluation including Settlement Analysis, Corrosion Rates, Alarm Reaction Times, Inspection Interval Safe-Fill Heights & Shell Minimum Thickness; Field Inspection, Evaluation & Repair of Bulk Storage Tanks; Pre-Commissioning and Installation of replacement of Tank Floors, High-Level Alarms, Hot Taps, Internal Floating Roofs, Nozzles, Roof and Tank Leveling. Further, he is an international expert in API 653 (Tank Inspection Code) and API 1104 (Pipeline Welding Standards), NDT, Corrosion, Welding, Piping & Pipelines. He is currently the Chief API Tank Inspector in the USA wherein he is responsible for the tank and mechanical maintenance inspection of all the tank related projects.


Mr. Fournerat, being an API Tank Inspector and the subject expert matter throughout his career life, has handled numerous international and multi-million dollar projects within the USA, New England, Japan and Mid Continent/Alaska under Chevron USA, Kinder Morgan, SGS, Enbridge Energy, Plains Pipeline, MMP, E/PRO Engineering & DMA. He was mainly in charge of the inspection of crude oil tanks; tank evaluation; inspection approval for tank cleaning, sandblasting, coating, welding and contractors in upstream oil and gas production fields; inspecting tank with geodesic dome; inspecting tank on new floor and external floating roof; inspecting tank for new tank construction on a new crude oil facility; overseeing construction and maintenance of aboveground storage tanks as per API 653, API 650 and other related terminal and refinery construction projects as well as conducting final project inspections and making recommendations to the client regarding the final acceptance that is focusing on monitoring the materials and workmanship that are critical to the integrity of the structure.


Mr. Fournerat has a Bachelor degree in Engineering from the Louisiana State University in USA. Further, he is a Certified Instructor/Trainer, a Certified API 653 Inspector, NDE Level II for UT, PT, MFE & LT including Bubble (BT) and Helium Leak Testing (MSLT) and NDE Level I for MT.
