Mr. James Henderson

Mr. James Henderson, PE, MSc, BSc, is a Senior Welding Engineer with over 35 years of industrial experience within the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, Power and heavy industries. His thorough experience widely covers Welding Technology, Fabrications, Metallurgy and NDT. This includes commanding the standards of ASME, API, AWS, ANSI, BS, ISO, ASTM and EN.  He is currently the Operations Manager of the Lamprell Energy which provides diversified engineering and contracting services to the onshore and offshore oil & gas and renewable energy industries and wherein he is responsible for the management and supervision of all the operational capability and activities of the whole facility.  He has been the Training Advisor then the Training & Development Manager prior to becoming the Operations Manager of the same company.

During his long career life, Mr. Henderson worked for various international companies in the Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Africa, and Asia. He worked as the Welding Manager of the Mitsubishi Motors Australia where he is in charge of both Body Shop and Hardware Divisions of the plant. His responsibilities include MIG, resistance welding, flame brazing and wire seam welding, for both robotic and manual applications. Prior to that, he has been the National Technology Advisor & Qualification & Certification Manager of the Welding Technology Institute of Australia; Welding Manager, Site Welding Superintendent and Site Welding Engineer of BABCOCK for 21 years.

Mr. Henderson is a Registered Professional & International Welding Engineer and has a Master degree in Welding Engineering and a Bachelor degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand and the University of Stratchclyde, Glasglow respectively.  He has further Fabrications and Welding Technician Certificates Parts I, II & III and an ONC in Metallurgy from the Stow College of Technology.  Further, he has numerous publications, papers and presentations globally.
