Mr. Edgar Bradley

Mr. Edgar Bradley, PE, MSc, BSc, is a Senior Mechanical Engineer with over 40 years of extensive industrial experience within the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Power industries. His expertise covers Flange Management, Reliability, Maintenance, Integrity & Inspection, Piping Vibration, Pressure Vessels, Boilers, Mechanical Seals, Project & Design Engineering, Value & Systems Engineering, Technical & Engineering Report Writing, Engineering Drawings, Codes & Standards, Best Maintenance Practices, Profit Optimization, Project & Contract, Technical and Defence Management. His range of experience specifically includes RCM, TPM, RCFA, FMEA, RAM, LM, CBM and CMMS as well as boilers, lubrication technology, pipework, cryogenics, benchmarking and plant maintenance.  He is currently the Chief Consultant (RAM) of ESKOM wherein he received the honour of “ESKOM’s Chairman Award” for developing the Operator’s Challenge which is a simulator based competition in improving power station operators’ performance and reliability. He further developed Cyberthon which is an international competition between power station operators in South Africa & Russia.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Bradley served as a Reliability & Maintenance Specialist, Project Manager, Boiler Plant Specialist and Project & Design Manager in the Generation Group of ESKOM companies. Prior to this, he was the President of Southern African Maintenance Association (SAMA) and was a distinguished Senior Professor and an External Examiner to various universities for reliability & maintenance engineering, project management, industrial marketing and systems engineering. During his association with the universities, he has consulted to many firms in the power generation, electronics, chemical industries as well as in defence military industry where he was assigned as the Technical Officer with the rank of Major.

Mr. Bradley is a Registered Professional Engineer and has Master and Bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron, Ohio, USA as well as MBA from Cranfield Institute of Technology, UK and he is currently finishing PhD in Engineering at the University of Warwick, UK. Further, he is a holder of South African Government Certificate of Competency (Factories & Mechanical) and an active member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Institute of Industrial Engineers, MENSA as well as the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals, USA. Moreover, he published numerous papers that were presented on reliability, maintenance and related subjects in the USA, Australia, UK, Asia, the Middle East and African regions.
