Professor Ozgur Egilmez, PhD, MSc, BSc, is a Senior Structural Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the field of Structural Engineering, Design and Behaviour of Steel Structures, Advanced Steel Design and Stability of Structures. He is currently the Professor of Structural Engineering in one of the leading universities in Turkey.
During his long career life, Professor Ozgur has worked as a Senior and Project Engineer in Europe wherein he designed the steel structural works and conducted research projects on steel buildings of various public and industrial facilities. He worked in the University of Houston (USA) wherein he was supervising masters and PhD students in designing steel bridges and in developing design guidelines for the use of permanent metal deck forms to brace steel bridges during construction.
Professor Ozgur has PhD, Master and Bachelor degrees in Structural Engineering from the University of Houston (USA). He is a member of the Chamber of Civil Engineers, Structural Stability Research Council, American Institute of Steel Construction and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
