Mr. Awad Shams

Mr. Awad Shams, PE, BSc, is a Senior Mechanical & Process Engineer with over 40 years of process, chemical and operation experience within the Petrochemical, Oil and Gas industries. His expertise covers Turnaround Operation, Start-up and Shutdown, Oil & Gas Operations, Process Plant Troubleshooting, Process Heaters, Furnace & Distillation Operations, Process Equipment Operations, Refinery Process & Operation, Project Design and Management, Engineering Design & Problem Solving, Oil Extraction and Oil Movement. Moreover, he specializes in Boiler Operation, Maintenance & Control System as well as Rotating Equipment such as pump, valve, compressor, turbines, blower, fan, pipe and heat exchanger. Currently, he is the Training and Technical Consultant Manager of Global Petroleum in Canada.

Mr. Awad worked with several international companies in North America, Canada and the Middle East.  He occupied significant positions such as a Turnaround Manager, Process Engineer, Shift Engineer and Plant Engineer. Further, he worked as the Head Training Instructor of a Petroleum Institute and an Instructor of University of South Florida and Calgary University, Canada. Moreover, he has gained his experience in plant operations wherein he had operated the process equipment such as amine & sulfinol reclamation, sulfur degasser, fractionation units, gas plants and its facilities.

Mr. Awad is a Registered Professional Engineer and has a Bachelor degree in Petroleum Refining Engineering as well as Diploma in Power Engineering from S.A.I.T in Canada. Presently, he is a member of APEGGA, Alberta Boilers and Pressure Vessels Act for Power Engineers and Society of Petroleum Engineer (SPE).
