Course Description

This practical and highly-interactive course includes various practical sessions. Theory learned will be applied using thermal imaging infrared cameras. This course is designed to provide participants the theory lectures and practical training with a preliminary understanding of Thermal/Infrared Testing (IR) as per the ASNT Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A for Personnel Qualification and Certification in Nondestructive Testing. The course will discuss the temperature measurements applications, isotherms/alarm levels ? personnel safety audits and profiles; the energy loss analysis applications, conduction losses through envelopes and mass transfer heat exchange (air or other flows into or out of the system); and the active applications including insulation flaws, delamination of composites, bond quality of coatings and location of high heat-capacity components. During this interactive course, participants will learn the filtered applications that include sunlight, furnace interiors and semitransparent targets; the transient applications, imaging a rapidly moving process and imaging from a vehicle; the reports and documentation; the calibration requirements and records; and the report data requirements and preparing reports
