Course Description

This practical and highly-interactive course includes real-life case studies and exercises where participants will be engaged in a series of interactive small groups and class workshops This course is designed to provide participants with a detailed and up-to-date overview of oil & gas port knowledge. It covers the framework for port reform and port business environment; the competitive landscape, port dynamics in the 21st century, challenges and opportunities; the alternative port management structures and ownership models; the port finance overview, legal tools, port authority, terminal operations and port regulations; and the concessions for the management and operation of an existing terminal. At the end of the course, participants will be able to recognize financial implication of a port and principal risk in a port project; implement port regulations covering regulatory concerns when formulating a port strategy and strategies to enhance port sector competition; design port regulatory system and identify the labor reform and related social issues, labor involvement in port and the institutional framework for labor reform; apply international support for labor adjustment and implement port reform; and redefine authorities and power; legal adaptation and prepare transaction. link to course overview PDF

Training Methodology: 80% of the program will be theory and 20% will be practical sessions, exercises, case studies, simulators or videos
Training Program: The training will be for 4 hours per day starting at 09:30 and ending at 13:30

Simulators: Only software simulators will be used in the virtual courses. Hardware simulators are not applicable and will not be used in Virtual Training
